Steinway woods

There are many beautiful wood veneers that are used on these majestic pianos. however the most noteable veneers are as follows:
African Cherry: it is a reddish brown colour and it's usually quarer sliced to give a most appealing design. it is found in the high mountains of west Africa.
Mahogany: it ranges from golden to dark red in colour and is found mainly in the centre of South America.
African Pommele: it is dark red or purple brown in colour and is found in the forests of south-centralhighland Africa.
Walnut: famous for its curly, wavey designs. Ranges from chocolate brown to golden brown and has a slight open grain. Found in the Ohio Valley.
Cherry: dark red in colour and is straight grained. Its best wood grows in the Appalacian forests of the USA.
